San Leandro 2017 Toy Drive Slide show

Nothing is more heartwarming than the joy of a child whose holiday wishes have come true. SERVPRO of San Leandro’s 2017 Toy Drive gathered dozens of toys to delight the children who receive support from the Women’s Daytime Drop-In Center Shelter. We drove our Big Green Truck to the Davis Street Walmart on December 2, 2017, and opened its doors from 11 am to 4 pm to collect toys and other gift items for these deserving youngsters from local shoppers who want to make a difference.

We also accepted donations in our San Leandro office during the holiday season, displaying the array with pride and anticipation of the happiness our community and our SERVPRO family hoped to bring to the children in need. Brightly colored, and offering something for every age and gender, the gifts overflowed our lobby area ready for delivery to the waiting children. Local residents selected items we suggested -- dolls, action figures, art and craft supplies, cars and trucks, and sports equipment.

The Women’s Daytime Drop-In Center has been a Berkeley institution since 1987, responding to the needs of homeless and stressed mothers and children. A safe and comfortable place, the Center offers women and their families a host of resources to help with the struggles faced daily. As the holidays approach, the desire the mothers express to create a festive atmosphere for their offspring is poignant, touching the owners and the employees of SERVPRO of San Leandro.

Our San Leandro SERVPRO family of managers, office staff, and technicians demonstrates kindness, inclusiveness, and compassion every day as we respond to our customer’s needs for help with a wide range of emergencies, accidents, and weather disasters. The effort made to brighten the holiday season for little ones and teens who experience the hardships and anxiety of homelessness is a natural outgrowth of our mission.

Moving into the new year, the smiles and glee when the children embrace the gifts sustain us. SERVPRO of San Leandro exists to serve the homeowners and businesses of our area, transforming worry and care into relief and restored comfort. We are also honored to be a part of a happy holiday for each of the boys and girls who received the gifts from our Toy Drive.
