SERVPRO Production Manager Explains Ozone Chamber Equipment
Our SERVPRO of San Leandro franchise prides itself on having the industry-leading equipment to handle any restoration project that you might have to face. Our experienced technicians often use a wide array of machines and tools on every site to ensure that the result exceeds both the industry standard and your expectations. Here in this video, our Production Manager Rhia Shiek introduces a space in our facility invaluable to deodorization: the ozone chamber.
As you can see in the video, our Production Manager is standing in a small room. Surprisingly, this entire space is the ozone chamber that we use to deodorize contents of your home after incidents like a fire have taken place. Items are brought into this chamber and stored for a day to neutralize the smoke damages to the affected furniture, fabrics, and clothing from a fire recovery.
The chamber works by introducing O3 molecules into the environment. This compound has an extra oxygen molecule than normal air that we breathe, allowing this added molecule to bond with the odor particles embedded in fabrics and furniture. Once this chemical reaction takes place, the odor within these contents gets neutralized, leaving behind no discernable scent.
Getting these items to this chamber requires an assessment from our SERVPRO professionals on site. This process is part of our mitigation service, packing out at-risk and damaged items for individual cleaning and time spent within this chamber to remove the odor fixed to them from the fire or mold growth. Once the restoration nears completion at the residence or commercial property, our SERVPRO specialists can return these items to their original positions.
Many homeowners and business owners are not aware of the science and intricacy of restoration work, especially when it comes to lessening the impact of a disaster on the things that matter most to you. Ozone chambers can help to return your home to original conditions, allowing the affected contents within the property to return unscathed and unscented.
