One of two ultrasonic chambers at our shops
This is a historical look back at constructing our ultrasonic cleaning room at our shop in Hayward near the end of the San Mateo Bridge.
For fire and smoke cleanup work on contents, an ultrasonic chamber does a remarkable job of fine detail cleaning. An ultrasonic chamber sends tiny shockwaves through a liquid (water and detergent). Soot and grease contaminated items are dipped into the immersion tank. The vibrating waves remove the soil from the item. Items placed into the ultrasonic tank must be able to tolerate being wet. The best items for cleaning include: glassware, dishes, pots and pans, plastic toys, hand tools, wicker baskets, ceramic ornaments and others.
