Removing the Debris From a Fire Site
When most Fire Departments fight fire, the fire fighters use water to extinguish the flames and that not only puts out the fire, it wets structural materials and contents. As the fire fighters are working they will pile up contents and wet them down again. This way they make sure that contents won't smolder and begin to burn again to reignite the fire. The after math of fires have a similar look... piles of soaking debris. This is where our SERVPRO of San Leandro technicians begin our work by removing these piles of debris. Sometimes we are able to salvage and clean items in these debris piles. Most of the time these items are not salvageable. Once the debris is removed, we begin to dry and clean the structure. Badly burnt structural materials are removed too, so the structure can be rebuilt.
